Garden flowers are such a delight to press, the detail and colour preservation is unique. These have a beautiful antique look to them, brought to the surface during the process…

It’s a constant surprise when opening up all the presses after a few weeks of preserving. I was blown away by the detail on the cosmos (bottom left hand corner) they almost look like a sketch with the deep pink outline popping out on the petals. The same has happened on the beautiful garden rose…

That’s the beauty of pressing  flowers, it highlights and brings to life all the tiny details that you just don’t see when they’re fresh and alive, they take on a different kind of beauty when pressed and dried, like a skeleton almost.
