Clare had a mainly white bouquet, with touches and foliage and blush pinks…

White larkspur are a dream to press, they’re papery thin and hold there true white colour really well…

However, when it comes to pressing lisianthus, they usually turn neon yellow during the process! I honestly don’t know why!

My latest technique is to open the press way before they’re ready, I then put them in between two fresh sheets of paper and put them back inside the press without screwing the bolts down, almost let them air dry, just using the weight of the press to keep them flat. Even then it’s hit and miss! But as you can see these preserved well, even holding a subtle blush pink…

Alliums you need to press, then a week later take them out and lightly hammer the bulbus seed head in the centre, it helps break down the fibres Put them between fresh sheets of blotting paper and press again for another week or so, they should come out super flat…

Roses you need to remove the centre, leaving just the shell and a few petals… Roses are really prone to rotting from the inside, removing the centre eliminates this and speeds up the preservation process…
