My Grandmother passed away in 2021… she was bold, brash, loud and colourful… and so where the flowers… 

After the funeral I pressed the large spray of flowers that dressed her coffin, making four large frames, for each of her daughters…

All of the flowers preserved their colours really well… The dainty blue forget-me-nots, blue hydrangeas and bright orange gerbera, along with pink bleeding heart and flecks of celosia really pop against the subtle lilac stocks and green viburnum. Considering how bright the flowers were when fresh, The results are really good…

It’s certainly not morbid to press funeral flowers… funerals are a celebration of life, and to preserve flowers from that day is the perfect way to remember them…
