About me...

Flowers, plants and gardening are my life… I’ve been a florist for over 25 years, running my own wedding flower business for 10 of those, so I think its fair to say I know a thing or two about flowers…

I launched The Wildflower Press during lock down… Like many people my life paused for over a year and all of a sudden I had a lot of time on my hands…

Flower preservation was something I’d always wanted to learn, plus my brides always asked for recommendations…

During the months we had stay inside I decided to make some wooden presses from some old shelving, which I still use to this day! I sourced blotting paper from a local company that were doing click and collect and used the cardboard from packaging that was delivered to the house as the cushioning between each layer of flowers…

On my daily one hours walk I’d forage wildflowers, hence the name – The Wildflower Press… and taught myself how to press flowers…

Once I was good enough I started to make floral art and opened a popup shop in my old studio two days a week selling my art and plants which the lovely local residents supported in full…

The next job was a website, which you’re on right now, version 4…

The Wildflower Press is now my full time job…

Making the decision to come away from a successful wedding business and embark on the journey of becoming an artist was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made…

I have zero regrets and I couldn’t be happier!
